Tri-metal bearings are mostly designed in the form of thin walled bearings; however, they have the tolerance of high reciprocating dynamic loads in the reciprocating equipment (connecting rod and crankshaft bearing) due to the strong bond between steel backing & lead-bronze bearing alloy.

Special coating is used on the inner surface of the bearings.
